3.1 Report from Meeting of Academic Regulations Sub-Committee - 13 May 2011 (ASC/2010/64) 

EdPSC approved the following regulatory proposals recommended by ASC:

  • Revised Generic Regulation combining PGT and MRes degree programmes - there will also be further consultation with Deans of Graduate Schools;
  • Amendments to the Code of Assessment

Senate did not approve proposals from ASC and EdPSC regarding discretion in the award of honours classifications. Instead, it was agreed that there should be further consultation with Schools and Colleges. 

3.2 Programme Approval (ASC/2010/66) 

The Programme and Course Approval Working Group (PCAWG) will meet this semester and will consider the possibility of expanding the proposal support document (section "A4. Consultations") to improve information on proposers' responses to consultation feedback.  

3.3 Report from Meeting of Programme & Course Approval Working Group - 5 May 2011 (ASC/2010/67) 

PCAWG will also consider at its next meeting the issue of collecting information on current courses which have an opt-out from coursework reassessment. 

3.4 Report on Re/validations 2010/11 (ASC/2010/69.3) 

ASC is asked to note that the report of the validation of the proposed new Joint MSc in Product Design Engineering at Glasgow School of Art was not referred to the Clerk of Senate and Convener of ASC for approval under summer powers as it has not yet been ratified by the School of Engineering. It is expected that the validation report will be available for ASC scrutiny at its meeting on 18 November 2011.
