Cover Sheet
Geraldine Perriam, Senate Office
The attached paper contains information on the programmes validated by The Glasgow School of Art during session 2011-2012. The relevant validation reports for the following programmes, including the panels’ conditions and recommendations are attached:
International Foundation Programme
Master of Design Innovation and Citizenship/Service Design/Environmental Design
Master of Education in Education and the Creative Disciplines.
It should be noted that there is an error on page 5 of the report. In paragraph three under “Consideration” the words “validation of the International Foundation” should read “validation of the Master of Design Innovation and Citizenship/Service Design/Environmental Design”.
Also, on page 8 - in paragraph five under "Consideration" the words "validation of the International Foundation" should read "validation of the Master of Education in Education in the Creative Disciplines".
ASC is asked to note that the report for the International Foundation Programme is for information only as the programme is not validated by the University.
The Committee is asked to note the report for Master of Design Innovation and Citizenship/Service Design/Environmental Design and approve the recommendation that the programme be approved as an award of the University of Glasgow from September 2012 subject to the conditions outlined being met.
ASC is also asked to note the report for the Master of Education in Education and the Creative Disciplines and approve the recommendation that the programme be approved as an award of the University of Glasgow from September 2012.
Additionally, ASC is asked to note that the cognate external members of the panels for the latter two awards were unable to be present at the meeting of the panel. Reports reviewing the programmes were received by the panels from these external members instead.
The Programme Team will implement any conditions and recommendations.
