Cover Sheet

Mrs R Cole, Senate Office

Brief description of the paper

The ASC Programme Approval Group for the Faculties of Education, Medicine and Veterinary Medicine met on 26 March 2010 to consider proposals for new programmes and major changes to existing programmes. This report provides a note of progress made with conditions of approval which were outstanding at the previous meeting of ASC and with the proposals that were referred back to Faculty.

Action Requested

ASC is invited to approve the proposals recommended by the Programme Approval Group.

At its meeting on 23 April, ASC considered three proposals from the Faculty of Education for work-based learning programmes. ASC had concerns regarding the balance between work-based and study-based elements of the programmes, and referred these back to the Faculty. ASC is asked to consider the response and the amended proposals provided.
