Departmental Programmes of Teaching, Learning and Assessment: Update on Responses to the Recommendations arising from the Review of Veterinary Medicine held on 17 November 2006

Cover Sheet

Ms Jane McAllister, Senate Office

Brief description of the paper

At the meeting on 30 May 2008, Academic Standards Committee received the responses to the recommendations arising from the Review of Veterinary Medicine held on 17 November 2006. There was some concern that responses indicated work in progress, rather than completed actions. In particular it was requested that a more robust response be sought in response to recommendation 1 in order to demonstrate proposals for change arising from the curricular review.

Clerk’s Note:

Also attached at Appendix 1 is an update on progress towards completion of the Small Animal Hospital which was submitted to the Estates Committee on 30 March 2009.

Action Requested

ASC is asked to consider the adequacy of the updated response to Recommendation 1 and the progress made.

ASC is also asked to consider the need for a further update report on progress with the curricular review after the period of 12 months (or other timescale).
