Brief description of the paper

The attached paper is a proposal from The Glasgow School of Art (GSA) for the introduction of the MLitt Art, Society and Culture programme commencing in September 2019. The Programme Proposal was approved by GSA’s Executive Group on 1 May 2018.

The original version of this paper was submitted to the May 2018 meeting of Academic Standards Committee (ASC). The minutes of that meeting noted with regard to the Programme Proposal, that ‘Appendix A Structure and Delivery was not included and ASC required to see this in order to consider the schedule of teaching and assessment’. ASC agreed that it was unable to give in-principle approval to the Programme Proposal until these matters had been resolved. GSA was invited to advise ASC once the relevant issues had been addressed.

GSA has now revised the original submission and has provided an addendum (enclosed) along with the original paper outlining the following further information:

  • Programme structure and delivery
  • Schedule of teaching and assessment
  • Programme aims and learning outcomes
  • Information on resource and facilities
