Brief description of the paper 

The enclosed paper is a final update on the progress made on recommendations arising out of the School of Design’s Periodic Review (2015/16). Also enclosed is the action plan which shows progress as reported during session 2016/17 to GSA’s Undergraduate and Postgraduate Committee and Academic Council. This paper was considered by GSA’s Academic Council on 4 October 2017.

Action Requested 

The action required with regard to all recommendations is now considered to be complete. Academic Standards Committee is asked to consider and note the action taken.

No resource implications for the University have been identified.

Timescale for Implementation 

Where applicable, these are indicated in the paper.

Equality implications 

Equality considerations and equality impact assessment is embedded and mainstreamed at GSA. At the time of the Review, it was noted that some of the programmes under consideration were in the process of undertaking an Equality Impact Assessment. The Review Panel agreed that the School of Design should establish a schedule for Equality Impact Assessment to be undertaken for its entire provision. A timeline for this has now been identified.
