At its meeting on 24 March 2017, Academic Standards Committee received the responses to the recommendations arising from the Periodic Subject Review of English Literature. ASC noted that the following responses would require further update:

• Recommendation 9: It was unclear from the responses whether the apparent contradiction in published statements concerning promotion had been resolved. A further response from the Head of Subject/School and from HR was requested for the September 2017 meeting of ASC.

Academic Standards Committee is asked to consider the adequacy of the response and the progress made and to approve that the standard statement provided by Human Resources is used for future Reviews.
