Brief description of the paper

The attached report is a proposal from The Glasgow School of Art (GSA) for the introduction of the MLitt Art Writing programme commencing in September 2018.

The proposed MLitt Art Writing is a one-year taught postgraduate programme led by the Department of Art Context and Theory (ACT) in the School of Fine Art. The programme ‘will explore and develop the interdisciplinary concerns of Art Writing and the critical turn in contemporary art alongside the emergent cross-form and hybrid writing turns of experimental literature’.

The Programme Proposal was approved by GSA’s Executive Group in October 2016 and, subject to approval by Academic Standards Committee (ASC), the School of Fine Art will develop Programme Approval documentation in session 2016-17. Subject to the further necessary approvals, final Programme Approval documentation will be submitted to ASC in November 2017.
