Brief description of the paper

At its meeting on 15 April 2016, the Academic Standards Committee received the Report of Periodic Subject Review of the Academic Development Unit. The recommendations contained within the report were approved for onward transmission to those identified for action(1) . This report details the responses and the progress made to date in implementing the recommendations.

The Convener would like to draw ASC’s attention to the current re-organisation of the Learning & Teaching Centre, including the Academic Development Unit (ADU). It is the Convener’s recommendation that an update on all ADU actions should be sought in 12 months’ time in order that the recommendations can be embedded within the new structure of the Learning & Teaching Centre.

(1) Please note an error in relation to Recommendation 2 and 9. A response should have been sought from all Deans (L&T) in relation to Recommendation 9 and Recommendation 2 should have been addressed by Deans (L&T) for Arts, Science & Engineering and Social Sciences only. A response will now be sought from MVLS in relation to Recommendation 9 which will be included in the next update.
