Brief description of the paper 

This paper contains the rationale for the change in awarding body for the MMus in Historically Informed Performance Practice from the University of Glasgow to the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.

Action Requested 

The Academic Standards Committee is asked to note that from 2017-18 UoG will no longer award the MMus in Historically Informed Performance Practice and although joint teaching of the programme will continue, RCS will become the sole awarding body. Ultimate responsibility for academic quality will pass from UoG to RCS and other quality monitoring and reporting mechanisms will be set up between the UoG Subject Area (Music) and RCS.
