Visiting Student Examination Scheduling in Semester 1

Cover Sheet

Matthew Hastings, Assistant Director of Registry

Brief description of the paper

Options for examination scheduling for Semester 1 visiting students who are enrolled on full-year courses or semester one courses where the exam takes place in the Spring diet. The option for the visiting students affected to be given an alternative form of assessment, such as an essay, is no longer available.

The options are:

  1. Schools create new suites of the relevant courses which are examinable in the Winter examination diet. The visiting students are enrolled on these courses in MyCampus and the Registry can then schedule their examinations in the Winter examination diet.
  2. Where a course is taught in Semester 1 but not examined until the Spring diet, the Schools consider moving the exam for all students on the course to the Winter diet.
  3. Schools only offer visiting students a choice of courses where teaching and assessment are completed by the end of their period of their study at the University.
