Brief description of the paper

At its meeting on 16 April 2013, the Academic Standards Committee received the Report of Periodic Subject Review of the School of Veterinary Medicine. The recommendations contained within the report were approved for onward transmission to those identified for action. This report details the responses and the progress made to date in implementing the recommendations.

The Convener considers that the Panel’s recommendations have been, as far as possible, given full and appropriate consideration.

Action Requested

Academic Standards Committee is asked to consider the adequacy of the responses and the progress made, particularly noting the following:

Recommendation 1: A report to ASC in April 2013 outlined the proposed revision to the MSci curriculum though no schedule was outlined at that time. ASC is therefore asked to note the proposed schedule indicated here.

Recommendations 4 and 11: It is suggested that a follow-up report be requested.

Recommended Person/s responsible for taking action(s) forward

As identified in the report.

Resource implications

No direct resource implications have been identified.

Timescale for Implementation

As outlined.

Equality implications

No specific implications identified, although the School should continue to embed consideration of equality and diversity in all its procedures and provision.
