Brief description of the paper

At its meeting on 16 April 2013, the Academic Standards Committee received the Report of Periodic Subject Review of the Postgraduate Taught Programmes in the College of Medical, Veterinary and Life Sciences. The recommendations contained within the report were approved for onward transmission to those identified for action. This report details the responses and the progress made to date in implementing the recommendations.

The Convener has confirmed that, from the documentation provided, it would appear that MVLS has taken the recommendations very seriously and has responded with appropriate action: no more could be expected at this stage. At the next review (whether as part of individual School PSR or a collective PGT review), the review team should evaluate whether the actions have resulted in improvement to: recruitment, student support and student feedback mechanisms.

Please note that Appendix 1, the College’s PGT Strategy, is still in draft form and should remain confidential within the University.
