In submitting its programme proposals to the Semester 2 PAG in March 2014, the College of Social Sciences also provided some feedback from the Learning and Teaching Centre regarding (i) the presentation of ILOs on programme specifications, and, (ii) previous PAG feedback on the formulation of ILOs and the verbs used in them.

The feedback from Learning & Teaching Centre is provided in full in this paper. In addition, the current Guidance documents circulated to PAG members prior to the PAG meetings is also provided for information (see Annex 1).

The feedback assumes that there has been formal agreement that certain verbs have been disallowed in the construction of ILOs which is not the case.

ASC is invited to consider the feedback provided and to provide comment. ASC is also invited to consider:

(i) Whether the structure of the presentation of ILOs on the programme specification should be reviewed by the Programme and Course Approval Working Group (PCAWG); and,

(ii) Any action which could be taken to ensure greater consistency in the feedback on ILOs provided by PAGs.
