The paper describes a change to the annual monitoring process that allows Schools/subject areas to replace the completion of annual monitoring forms with a minuted discussion meeting. This is broadly based on current successful practice in the School of Engineering.

The Quality Officers Forum has discussed this proposal and has commented on earlier drafts. It is in broad agreement with the principle. In order that Quality Officers may explore using this approach for 2013-14 annual monitoring, ASC is asked to approve the change in principle. The Quality Officers Forum will finalise the details of the guidance at its next meeting in early May.
