RIO Review of PGT Market Assessment Process

Brief description of the paper 

A strand of the University’s Internationalisation Strategy is to increase international student numbers. Ambitious targets have been set to double our international PGT numbers by 2014/15. In support of this aspiration, in September 2010 the Recruitment and International Office established a market assessment process for new and existing programmes to determine whether there was international market potential. The attached paper provides a review of this process and suggested improvements as requested by the Academic Standards Committee.

Action Requested 

The Committee are requested to consider the review and provide comments.

Elizabeth Gray, Head of Strategic Marketing.

Resource implications 

The addition of assessing the UK market and all programmes may require further resource.

Timescale for Implementation 

Following Academic Standards Committee in February 2014.
