Brief description of the paper

In December 2012, the QAA published a revised section of the UK Quality Code for Higher Education (the Quality Code), Chapter B10: Managing higher education provision with others. This Chapter will be used as a reference point in reviews coordinated by QAA from January 2014.

A mapping of University policies and procedures against the 19 Indicators has been undertaken to check consistency with Chapter B10. In general, there are no significant gaps but there are some areas where action would enhance existing University policy and or procedures. A number of actions are proposed in the report.

Action Requested

ASC is asked to consider and approve the proposed changes as set out in Section 3 of the report.

The Academic Collaborations Office will update the Framework for Academic Collaborations and the Code of Practice for Validated Provision accordingly and any associated documents (eg templates for operational plans, Memoranda of Agreement, etc).

The Academic Collaborations Office will co-ordinate progression of the actions, and is responsible for the majority of the actions.
