Periodic Subject Review: Responses to the Report of the Review of School of Education held on 27 and 28 February 2012

Brief description of the paper 

At its meeting on 25 May 2012, the Academic Standards Committee received the Report of Periodic Subject Review of the School of Education. The recommendations contained within the report were approved for onward transmission to those identified for action. This report details the responses and the progress made to date in implementing the recommendations.

The Convener considers that the Panel’s have been, as far as possible, given full and appropriate consideration.

Significant progress has been made on a number of recommendations which have not yet been fully implemented. It is proposed therefore, that a follow up report be requested.

The relevant recommendations are: 2; 3; 5; 7 and 10.

Action Requested 

Academic Standards Committee is asked to consider the adequacy of the responses and the progress made and to consider the proposal for a follow up report on the recommendations listed above.
