Brief description of the paper 

At its meeting on 25 May 2012, the Academic Standards Committee received the Report of Periodic Subject Review of Management. The recommendations contained within the report were approved for onward transmission to those identified for action. This report details the responses and the progress made to date in implementing the recommendations.

The Convener considers that the Panel’s recommendations have been, as far as possible, given full and appropriate consideration.

The subject are asked to critique the approach to managing workload (recommendation 1) to determine whether the current approach will deliver balanced workloads and, if not, what additional or alternative steps they will take.

A further update on progress with recommendations 3, 4, 5 and 12 is requested in one year.

Action Requested 

Academic Standards Committee is asked to consider the adequacy of the responses and the progress made.
