Periodic Subject Reviews 2011-12: Summary of Good Practice/Key Strengths

Brief description of the paper 

Report identifying themes of good practice arising from 2011-12 PSR review reports and highlighting good practice/key strengths, which may be worthy of wider dissemination.

Action Requested 

Academic Standards Committee is invited to consider the paper and confirm whether the items identified should be disseminated across the University.

Academic Standards Committee is asked to confirm that where instances of good practice have been noted that correspond closely to recommendations identified from other reviews, the Senate Office seek consent for the information to be forwarded directly to the Head of School/Subject where the corresponding recommendations were made.

Academic Standards Committee is asked to confirm that where areas of good practice identified under each School, the Senate Office will bring to the attention of School Quality Officers in order for them to track whether the practice has been adopted by another Subject within the School/College.

Recommended Person/s responsible for taking action(s) forward 

The Senate Office will coordinate with relevant Heads of Subjects and Schools and the Learning & Teaching Centre.

Resource implications 

Additional resources may be required for Subjects/Schools to implement the highlighted items of good practice/key strengths if considered worthy of wider dissemination.
