Brief description of the paper 

The attached paper provides an update on the validation and revalidation of programmes that were subject to programme approval in session 2010-2011. The paper includes the recommendations as set out in the original reports and updates from the GSA Board of Studies/Programme Leader as appropriate. Updates on recommendations are provided for the following re-validated programmes:

  • Masters if Research in Creative Practices;
  • BDes/MDes in Product Design;
  • Postgraduate Certificate in Supervision (Creative Practice).

Updates on recommendations are provided for the following validated programmes:

  • BA (Hons) in Communication Design;
  • BA (Hons) in Interior Design;
  • BA (Hons) in Silversmithing and Jewellery Design;
  • Master of Design in Interior Design;
  • Master of Letters in Fine Art Practice;
  • Master of Science in Medical Visualisation;
  • MSc in Product Design Engineering.
Action Requested 

ASC is invited to note the updated reports for information.

Recommended Person/s responsible for taking action(s) forward 

The Programme Team will implement any recommendations.

Resource implications 

The University receives validation fees for validated provision which includes a per capita fee for students on validated programmes.

Timescale for Implementation 

Programme re-validation normally lasts for a period of six years.

The Glasgow School of Art has an established equality policy in place.
