Brief description of the paper 

The attached paper contains the report on the Periodic Review of the School of Fine Art, including the commendations and recommendations of the Review Panel. The Review Panel has recommended the programmes from the School of Fine Art for re-validation, advising that progress with recommendations for the programmes be dealt with through Annual Programme Monitoring.

Action Requested 

ASC is invited to note the report and to approve the following programmes for re-validation for a period of six years from 2012-2013:

  • BA (Hons) Fine Art
  • MLitt Fine Art Practice
  • Master of Fine Arts (MFA)
Recommended Person/s responsible for taking action(s) forward 

The Programme Team will implement any recommendations.

Resource implications 

The University receives validation fees for validated provision which includes a per capita fee for students on validated programmes.

Timescale for Implementation 

Programme re-validation normally lasts for a period of six years.

Equality implications 

GSA has an established equality policy in place.
