College Annual Monitoring Summaries: College of Medical, Veterinary & Life Sciences

Brief description of the paper 

The paper contains a summary of the under- and postgraduate annual monitoring reports from the College of Medical, Veterinary & Life Sciences.

Action Requested 

The committee is asked to consider the issues raises in the report. The College of MVLS would particularly like to highlight the following:

  • The high changeover of School Quality Officers within the College of MVLS and the associate impact, as detailed in report;
  • Concerns with centrally-owned teaching spaces e.g. absence of large lecture theatres leading to double teaching for large classes, heating and ventilation issues. More noted in 2.2 (a);
  • Note, and consider appropriate methods to disseminate good practice identified such as the use of e-blogs as a learning tool and online assessment tools. More good practice noted in 4.1;
  • Concern over reduced teaching and administrative staff numbers while increasing student numbers and the impact on the student experience.
