Report from the Semester 1 Programme Approval Group which considered three proposals from the Faculty of Law, Business & Social Sciences.

Action Requested

ASC is invited to consider the issues raised in the General Comment at the beginning of the Report and confirm whether any modification is required to the Programme Approval Process in terms of the requirements for the timing of development of proposals against funding applications.

ASC is also asked to confirm that final approval of the Diploma in Legal Practice can be referred to the Convener of ASC if the amendments to the programme specification and external consultation are satisfactorily completed before the next meeting of ASC in February.

Timescale for Implementation

The MSc and PgD in Public Policy Management will commence in Semester 2 of the current session (January 2010). If approved the Diploma in Legal Practice will commence in session 2010-11.
