Brief description of the paper 

The Paper is the Report of the Validation of the Postgraduate Certificate/ Postgraduate Diploma/ Master of Science in Countryside Management, within the Scottish Agricultural College (SAC), following the submission of the Statement of Intent for the programme being approved at Academic Standards Committee on 19 February 2010 (Minute reference ASC/2009/48).

The Validation Panel agreed to recommend to the Learning Division Management Team of SAC and the Academic Standards Committee of the University of Glasgow that the Postgraduate Certificate / Postgraduate Diploma / Master of Science in Countryside Management should be validated as awards of the University of Glasgow for six years from session 2010-11. The panel made a number of conditions and recommendations, which are noted in paragraphs 5.3 and 5.4, which are to be met by 16 July 2010.

Action Requested 

Academic Standards Committee are asked to approve the validation of the Postgraduate Certificate/ Postgraduate Diploma/ Master of Science in Countryside Management, for six years from session 2010-11, subject to the conditions contained in paragraph 5.3 being met before the programme is delivered.

Recommended Person/s responsible for taking action(s) forward 

The Scottish Agricultural College will ensure that the conditions have been met before delivering the programme.
