Brief description of the paper

As reported at the last meeting of ASC, Academic Regulations Sub-Committee has begun work on the further harmonisation of Undergraduate Supplementary degree regulations. A consultation paper has been circulated to Faculties, with responses requested by 1 June. The consultation paper is included here for ASC’s information.

The need for this work was acknowledged when the new generic regulations were introduced, and further consultation on other regulatory matters will follow in due course.

The consultation covers the issues of progression for Honours degrees, Integrated Masters degrees and the five year professional degrees, and the weighting of Honours assessment.

Timescale for Implementation

Regulatory amendments need to be finalised before April 2010 as this is the proposed date for the new Student Lifecycle Project system development in this area.
