Brief description of the paper

At it’s meeting on 30 May 2008, Academic Standards Committee received the 12 month update on progress of recommendations arising from the above DPTLA review which was held on 14 March 2007.

In considering the responses to the recommendations, it was agreed that the department should be invited to strengthen their response to recommendation 3 in relation to returning essays to students at Level 3 and above.

Members also sought an update on recommendation 5 following the proposed discussion of this issue at the teaching review on 11 June 2008. An update was therefore requested.

The Department’s response is attached.
