Eligibility
- Open to all new College of Arts and Humanities doctoral applicants, both Home and International.
- Continuing students are not eligible for the DLA scheme.
- DLA scholarships cannot be awarded to students planning to study by Distance Learning
How to apply
You must make contact with a potential supervisor in the first instance, to discuss your application and research proposal. You can search for a supervisor here: www.gla.ac.uk/postgraduate/research/supervisors/
You should email your prospective supervisor, copying in the PGR convener for your subject area, to ensure that your query is appropriately redirected if, for whatever reason, your prospective supervisor is unable to take on the project.
You must submit TWO applications, both by the deadline of midday (12:00 GMT) on Friday 28 November 2025
- Apply for a place on the relevant doctoral programme using the online admissions system: https://www.gla.ac.uk/postgraduate/howtoapplyforapostgraduateresearchdegree/
This will generate an Admissions Application Number
Remember to upload all supporting documentation to your application: degree certificates and transcripts; references; IELTS certificate (if required)
- Complete the College of Arts and Humanities Doctoral Landscape Awards Application Form 2026/27 and submit it via the online scholarship application portal The portal will close to applications at midday (12:00 GMT) on Friday 28 November 2025.
